Notes on battery disposal and reimbursement
In connection with the sale of batteries or with the delivery of devices that contain batteries, we are obliged to inform you of the following:
Free return of old batteries
Batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. As the end user, you are legally obliged to return old batteries so that proper disposal can be guaranteed. You can hand in used batteries at a municipal collection point or at a local retailer. If the end user returns an old vehicle battery to us that we carry or have carried as a new battery in our range, we are obliged within the framework of the statutory provisions to take it back free of charge and to reimburse the deposit amount.
Sending used batteries by post is NOT permitted due to the Hazardous Goods Ordinance.
Special features when selling starter batteries

In connection with the sale of vehicle batteries to end users, in accordance with Section 10 BattG, we are additionally obliged to collect a deposit of EUR 7.50 per vehicle battery, including sales tax, if the end user does not return an old vehicle battery at the time of purchasing a new vehicle battery.
Friedrich Epple GmbH specifies the purchase price of all batteries plus a 7.50 euro deposit.

Insofar as we have issued a deposit token in accordance with Section 10, Paragraph 1, Clause 3 of the BattG, when the old vehicle battery is returned, the refund of the deposit depends on the receipt of the deposit token.
Return Location
You can return old batteries free of charge directly to our dispatch warehouse at the following address.
The used battery can be returned free of charge in our dispatch warehouse:

The old vehicle batteries can alternatively be handed in free of charge at recycling centers. The pledge we raise is made public by the? Legal recycling and recycling centers or other disposal companies: (communal collection points or on-site retailers such as: specialist dealers, workshops, etc.) not paid.
Here, however, you have the option of having the return of the old vehicle battery filled out / acknowledged on the deposit sticker.
Please send this proof to us by fax, email or post.
You will then receive the battery deposit back from us on presentation of the acknowledged deposit token.
Please note the above instructions.
Important Note
After the purchase you will automatically receive an eBay purchase confirmation with instructions on how to process the deposit via email. Please settle the deposit amount yourself when you make your payment. Your goods will only be shipped after the total amount has been paid (consisting of the item price, shipping costs and battery deposit).
Labelling
THE SYMBOLS SHOWN ON THE BATTERIES HAVE THE FOLLOWING MEANING:
Batteries are marked with the symbol of a crossed out wheelie bin. This symbol means that the disposal of batteries in the household waste is expressly forbidden according to the Battery Ordinance!
For batteries that include
- more than 0,0005 mass percent mercury,
- more than 0,002 mass percent cadmium
- more than 0,004 mass percent lead
The chemical name of the pollutant used is located under the garbage can symbol - "Cd" stands for cadmium, "Pb" stands for lead, and "Hg" for mercury.
